2025/09/12 –, Ethreactor Stage 言語: English
This session will explore the evolving landscape of public goods in Web3, connecting insights from deep-tech research, decentralized science (DeSci), and philanthropy. Speakers will examine how public goods are created and distributed, why they matter for Ethereum and human civilization, and whether Ethereum’s unique approach to funding them provides a lasting advantage.
The discussion will touch on:
• Lessons from bridging traditional philanthropy and crypto-native models
• Real-world areas where public goods thinking can make a difference
• The opportunities and challenges posed by the growing variety of funding models
• Strategies to overcome free-rider problems and foster collective action
• How Web3 public goods can break out of the crypto bubble to positively impact society in the coming decade
David Casey is the director of Funding the Commons, a global initiative initially incubated from within Protocol Labs, that convenes builders, funders, and researchers to accelerate public goods funding infrastructure and mechanisms. It does this through conferences, builder residencies, and hackathons.
